Celerity Consulting Group, LLC. has immediate openings for Associate Consultants. We are looking for sharp and motivated candidates who can effectively interact with our clients and complete assigned tasks. This is ideal for entry level business-data analysts and candidates who want to develop consulting, communication, and data analysis skills. Recent and upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply.

The Associate supports a team on an information management project, working directly under the Consultant and Senior Consultant to execute information-intensive activities while developing capabilities in consulting, data analysis, document management, and communication. This role is remote (work from home eligible). 


Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Support senior team members, primarily Consultants and Senior Consultants.
  • Train and manage clerical staff and temporary personnel, as needed.
  • Plan and monitor owned tasks, including:
    • Define task work steps, including milestones/deliverables, resources needed, quality control checkpoints, and due dates.
    • Report on progress and advise in advance if there are any issues.
  • Perform detailed analytical tasks, such as:
    • Review business and technical documents, online or in hard copy, to capture key data.
    • Perform searches using document database software.
    • Perform data entry; scan and copy documents, as needed.
    • Maintain tracking logs for data and documents from point of collection to return/delivery.
    • Manipulate, validate, and format data in Excel or Access (see below for technical requirements).
    • Perform spreadsheet analyses, and summarize and report on results of analyses.
    • Follow data processing specifications (typically related to eDiscovery projects).
  • Perform project administrative tasks utilizing existing documentation standards, such as:
    • Draft correspondence (internal and external).
    • Monitor the schedule of project tasks and report status to supervisor.
    • Maintain and organize project documentation, such as correspondence, reports, and logs.
    • Take notes at all meetings and distribute to team, as needed.
  • Demonstrate aptitude for information management and analytical competencies, such as:
    • Database concepts and Celerity’s database solutions.
    • Data processing activities such as file loading, data normalization, and data validation.
    • Spreadsheet analyses; tracking log creation and management; other tasks outlined in technical requirements below.
    • Information presentation in a clear and concise format, utilizing Celerity tools and templates.
  • Develop other Celerity competencies and soft-skills as outlined in the Consultant Development Framework, with emphasis on:
    • Quality Assurance and Quality Control. Take ownership of work-product, ensuring it is error-free and properly formatted.
    • Leadership and Teambuilding. Motivated self-starter; conduct self professionally and respectfully; look for increasing responsibility as appropriate; work independently, while showing team support.
    • Critical Thinking.  Ask well-considered questions in advance of executing a task; step back to identify insights/discover patterns; put forth ideas to improve processes or analyses.
    • Communication and Interpersonal Skills.  Engage in active listening; compose clear and timely written communication.
  • Demonstrate the follow technical skills:
    • Microsoft Word
      • Edit templates to create letters, meeting agendas, and meeting minutes while adhering to Celerity standards; understand basic features (e.g. font styles, alignment, headers, footers, etc.).
      • Make updates to more complex documents; become familiar with styles, outlining, sections, and other helpful features.
    • Microsoft Excel
      • Format and update tracking logs and data summaries using Celerity standards.
    • Microsoft Access/Database Fundamentals
      • Understand what a database is, including the concept of tables, field specifications, upload files, data normalization, and data validation.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, information management or similar from an accredited institution
  • One year of experience in a client facing and/or customer service role
  • Experience in the Gas & Utility Industry is a plus
  • Must have the ability to travel to and from assigned locations in Southern California. 
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Proven database skills and experience (SAP preferred)
  • Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • A professional demeanor and effective communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong analytical and/or critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work well with a team or as an individual contributor
Physical requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Ability to move and/or carry boxes up to 40 pounds with or without assistance
  • This position may navigate thought tight spaces and steep stairways.
  • Incumbents in this position frequently communicate with staff/clients who have inquires on project status; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity equipment, such as a mouse, keyboard, scanner, copier, and calculator
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
