Position Overview

The Functional Lead will be responsible for leading the functional workstreams of the implementation at medium to large utilities, focusing on Field Service Management (FSM) capabilities such as scheduling, dispatch, mobile workforce enablement, and asset integration. This role will serve as the primary liaison between utility business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that the FSM solution is configured and deployed to meet operational, regulatory, and user adoption goals. This position requires deep FSM domain expertise, experience with similar platforms, and a strong understanding of utility operations and asset management.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Ownership

· Lead functional design and configuration of modules, ensuring alignment with utility operational requirements, business goals, and regulatory standards.

· Develop and maintain tool-specific functional specifications, process flows, and solution documentation.

· Oversee and validate system configuration, functional testing, UAT coordination, and end-user training tailored to utility field operations.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

· Facilitate workshops with stakeholders across multiple business units and work types (operations, maintenance, gas, electric, IT).

· Present solution progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to client leadership and governance bodies.

· Support change management efforts and training teams, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and adoption of FSM solution across field workers and scheduling & dispatch centers.

· Champion intuitive user experience for field technicians, ensuring mobile workflows are optimized for safety, efficiency, and ease of use.

Team Leadership

· Manage and mentor functional consultants and business analysts, ensuring high-quality deliverables.

· Collaborate with utility internal teams, external vendors to ensure seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA, ESRI GIS, and other enterprise systems.

Project Delivery & Governance

· Participate in project governance structures, including steering committees, progress reviews, and risk tracking.

· Provide post-go-live support and continuous improvement recommendations.

· Ensure business readiness and successful transition to steady-state operations.

Educational Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

· Master’s degree (MBA or related) preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

· 10+ years of experience in business analysis or functional consulting, with proven success in technology/FSM solution implementations.

· Demonstrated ability to lead functional teams and own solution delivery for mid to large-sized transformation programs.

· Knowledge of FSM capabilities: scheduling, dispatch, workforce mobility, and system integrations.

· Familiarity/understanding of utility operations and asset management

· Hands-on experience with functional configuration, system validation, and user training.

· Familiarity with enterprise integrations (SOAP, REST APIs) and SQL for data validation.

· Strong business process, requirements analysis, and documentation skills.

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management, including with director-level and above executives.

· Experience in Agile project environments and working with cross-functional teams.

· Ability to travel to client site (domestic and(or) international) as required and defined per project requirements.

Preferred Skills

· Prior consulting experience implementing FSM solutions in utilities or asset-intensive industries (Electric, Gas, Water, Telecom).

· Hands-on experience with FSM solutions (Click, Salesforce FSL, OverIT, etc.) or other leading FSM software.

· Knowledge of utility regulatory, compliance, and safety requirements.

· Experience with large-scale, international projects and offshore/onshore delivery models.

· Expertise in change management and user adoption strategies.

The salary range for this position is provided in good faith and is subject to variation based on geographic location, candidate experience, and market conditions. Final compensation will be determined after a comprehensive evaluation of the candidate’s qualifications and alignment with the role.
