Position Summary
We are seeking a Data Migration & Integration Specialist with proven hands-on experience in Collibra, ERWin, and enterprise data modeling to support the creation of a centralized Enterprise Asset Master Data Model. This role is critical for establishing a single, system-agnostic source of truth for asset information, covering all classifications, families, and hierarchies.
The specialist will design, document, and implement high-quality data migration, integration, and lineage processes across systems such as Snowflake and Informatica MDM, ensuring consistency, neutrality, and adaptability. The individual will be instrumental in defining business glossaries, taxonomies, conceptual/logical data models, and lineage in Collibra to enable trusted enterprise-wide use of asset information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Modeling & Documentation
    • Develop and maintain Conceptual Data Models (CDM) and Logical Data Models (LDM) for asset master data across Electric T&D, Gas T&D, Power Generation, and IT Assets using ERWin.
    • Contribute to enterprise-wide Data Dictionaries and ensure alignment between business attributes, CDEs, CDM, and LDM.
    • Support asset taxonomy design, ensuring consistency across sub-domains and functional locations.
  • Metadata & Governance (Collibra-focused)
    • Implement, manage, and maintain Business Glossaries, CDEs, and Taxonomies in Collibra.
    • Import mapping documents and metadata into Collibra; configure lineage from Business Glossary → CDM → LDM.
    • Develop scripts/tools to transform mapping documents into Collibra-ingestible formats.
    • Monitor and manage metadata quality, stewardship workflows, and Collibra operational processes.
  • Data Migration & Integration
    • Support design and validation of data migration processes for centralizing asset information in a platform-neutral data master (Snowflake, Informatica MDM).
    • Define and implement lineage-aware data mappings from source systems (SAP PM, Maximo, GIS, spreadsheets, etc.) to the centralized repository.
    • Collaborate with integration teams to expose asset data via APIs or services for downstream processes (SAP, analytics, reporting).
  • Quality, Compliance, and Stewardship
    • Identify, document, and monitor Critical Data Elements (CDEs) across asset domains.
    • Validate metadata and lineage with SMEs; ensure accuracy against compliance and regulatory standards (FERC, NERC, PHMSA, etc.).
    • Support quarterly governance reviews, versioning, and updates of asset models as new technologies and assets are onboarded.

Qualifications & Skills
Must Have:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data migration, data modeling, or data integration projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Collibra (Business Glossary, CDEs, Lineage, Import automation).
  • Strong experience using ERWin for Conceptual, Logical, and Dimensional Data Models.
  • Proficiency in SQL, DDL scripting, and data integration tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, or native Snowflake pipelines).
  • Hands-on knowledge of metadata management and data governance frameworks.
  • Understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) concepts and implementation approaches.
Nice to Have:
  • Industry experience in Utilities (Electric, Gas, Power Gen) and exposure to SAP data domains (SAP PM, SAP MDG).
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards impacting utility assets (NERC, FERC, PHMSA).
  • Programming/scripting experience in Python/Java for metadata automation and Collibra integration.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based MDM or data platforms such as Snowflake, Informatica MDM, AWS Redshift, or Azure Synapse.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Relevant certifications in Collibra, ERWin, Snowflake, Informatica or Data Governance are a plus.
